Anyways...I find both the firebreather and beginning CrossFitter equally inspiring. Why? Because the firebreather, at one point, started out just like the newbie who, with said dedication, eventually will turn into a firebreather.
When the human mind commits to something, it's amazing what it can achieve...so few people understand what they are capable of. Everyone can achieve "elite" status - period. It all comes down to how much you are willing to give for it or how important it is to you.

I think it would be great if we could add more Tier 2 classes, so that there is one in the morning and in the afternoon. Which does happen on some days but mostly there is only one tier2 class a day.
I also think the Saturday Power programming is excellent .
Just a thought….but if we could have One class everyday or even 3 days a week that is open gym that would be great. It would be a great opportunity to workout areas that each of us know we need more practice in or maybe to just do a workout that one of the coaches did that day. You asked the question of what inspires me and it’s the firebreathers… I find myself in awe of the level of fitness that the Crossfit LV staff has achieved and it makes me want to attempt some of the programming they do on a daily basis and this open time slot would give me that opportunity.
I appreciate you being open to suggestions.

I'd have to say some of the trainers inspire me, mainly because their ability combined with positive attitudes that I would like to emulate more.

Beginners inspire by their dogged determination to improve.
I try to inspire myself by keeping track of new PRs and better techniques. In all three it's about performance fitness.
And this is why I love CrossFit - the inspiration obtained from all of this. You don't get that in a globogym or an aerobics class (which I used to teach). Everyone in there is just trying to make a bigger muscle or lose another pound. And it was all about how you look, not how you perform. And when you work hard, and feel good, you can't help but end up looking good in the end.

I agree with Zach - the mind is capable of so much more than we even know.
And watching Jared vertical jump an entire Zach was also awe inspiring...:)

The fire-breather puts me at awe at the strength, cardio, speed abilities to knock out the WODs in an incredible time. However, there are some fire-breathers are naturally athletic and may not give it their all when it comes to the WODs, but still knock it out of the water.
I look to the newbie that gives it their all as inspiration. As a trainer, I look to members that give it their all. Even if they come in last but gave it their all that makes myself as a trainer feel proud of the member. Not everyone has been blessed with athletic abilities, but it takes more for someone to give it their all and endure through their weaknesses to finish a WOD.
Please get me wrong, I'm not saying that natural athletes don't give it their all. I'm still proud of those that kick ass and blow through the WOD.....but I get more inspired by the newbies that struggle......I beloved they end up appreciating more of their accomplishments and don't take it for granted for one second.

In order to become elite, I would reference an article written by Greg Glassman (founder of CrossFit) entitled "Virtuosirty." He states that performing the common things uncommonly well will make you better. We say it again and again - master the basics. You will never see a truly elite athlete with a terrible air squat or deadlift (I'm talking form/technique wise, not how much they can lift). Beginner athletes who pay extra attention to the details of their movements and dedicate to improving those details are the ones who become elite.
In the end, once you master the basics and are consistent with mechanics, you can apply intensity to a greater degree and THAT is what turns you into a "firebreather."
