This past weekend we had the opportunity to host Kelly Starrett of San Francisco CrossFit for his Movement and Mobility Certification. We all walked away with a bunch of ideas on how to better address functional movements and instruction. A true gem that we can share with all you right away is mobilitywod.com!
On this site Kelly puts up different videos of things we can all do to help increase our mobility, performance, and ultimately our fitness. Some of the videos are challengin enough in their own right! Each one will address certain movements and problems commonly associated with those movements. These videos also discuss how to get better at these GOATS. Take a look at this video dealing with the Overhead Squat:

We will be on limited holiday hours today for Labor Day. Class times for today will be as follows:
7:30am - Tier 1
8:30am - Elements
4pm - CrossFit
5pm - CrossFit
6pm - Elements
The gym will also be closed this weekend, September 11th and 12th, due to the Level 1 CrossFit Certification being held this weekend! We will still have an Elements class on Saturday at approximately 6pm.
Fight Gone Bad is right around the corner, and we're hoping to see more excitement for it around the gym!! We'll be asking how many of you have registered for the team. We'll be programming so as to get ready for game day! There will also be a donation jar at the front desk for those who would like to help out the causes.
We're doing pretty well at 40 team members and $2200 in donations. As Sept. 25th draws closer, a big push to get our numbers even higher would be fantastic!

Fight Gone Bad 5 is 4 weeks away and we're holding steady at 39 team members and close to $2000! We will also be joining up with Jared Glover and CrossFit 702! Jared and his team will be coming down to Whole Foods on September 25th to co-host the event with us! We can also expect a few people from Iron Edge CrossFit in Mesquite to come down and hang out with us! This is shaping up to be a great, multi-affiliate event!!

We have until Friday September 3rd to get the second round of Rx Jump Ropes ordered! If you haven't put your name down and cord length down yet, what's stopping you? We will still be given the bulk rate of $28.66 per rope, but only till this Friday! For those of you who need to have a different length of cord cut from your first order, turn your current cord in to me with the desired measurement of the new cord and I will let Dave know that yours is to be a replacement cord.
